This page describes how content on Just Health Life is researched, written, checked, and corrected. We would rather tell you exactly how we work than make claims we cannot back up.
How We Research
Our source hierarchy, in order of preference: peer-reviewed research (PubMed, PMC), government health agencies (CDC, NIH, FDA, MedlinePlus), international bodies (WHO, EFSA), major medical organizations (American Heart Association, ACOG, American Diabetes Association, ACE), and established academic medical centers (Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, Johns Hopkins). If we cannot support a claim from sources like these, we do not publish it.
Articles cite sources inline where the claim is made. Every calculator page carries a Sources section listing the formula papers and guidelines the tool is built on, with links, so you can check our work.
How Our Calculators Are Built
Each of our 24 calculators implements a published formula or guideline, named on the page (for example Mifflin-St Jeor 1990 for calorie needs, the U.S. Navy circumference method for body fat, ACOG dating methods for pregnancy). Calculations run entirely in your browser; we do not collect, store, or transmit anything you enter. Each calculator shows the date it was last updated, and we review the formulas and reference ranges when the underlying guidelines change.
What We Do Not Claim
Content on this site is not reviewed by licensed clinicians, and we do not claim otherwise. We are a small independent publisher, not a medical organization. That is exactly why we cite primary sources for everything and keep a visible medical disclaimer: our job is to explain established guidance clearly, not to give medical advice.
How We Produce Content
We use modern editorial tools, including AI-assisted research and drafting, as part of our workflow. Every published piece follows the sourcing standards above, and the requirement is the same regardless of how a draft starts: claims must trace to the source hierarchy listed on this page.
Updates and Corrections
Health guidance changes, and we update content when it does. Articles display their published and modified dates; calculators display their last update. If you find an error, factual or otherwise, tell us through the contact page and mention the page URL. Verified errors are corrected in the article itself.
Advertising and Independence
The site is funded by advertising and occasional affiliate links, disclosed in our affiliate disclosure. Advertisers have no influence on what we cover or what we conclude. We do not accept payment for health claims, product endorsements inside health advice, or placement in our calculators.
