This page explains what Just Health Life collects, why, who else sees it, and how to get it back or have it deleted. It describes what the site actually does. Where a third party is involved, we name them and link to their own notice.
The short version

Who we are
Just Health Life is an independent health and wellness publisher at justhealthlife.com. It is not a company with departments; it is a small operation run by its owner, who is also the data controller for everything described here. Write to us through the contact page about anything on this page, including a request to see or delete your data. We answer every message.
When you read an article
Reading the site needs no account and no email address. Our web host, Hostinger, records the standard server log for every request: your IP address, the page you asked for, the time, your browser and operating system, and the page that referred you. Those logs exist to keep the site running and to deal with attacks and abuse. They are kept on the host’s normal schedule and we do not use them to build a profile of you.
Two things are stored in your own browser rather than by us. If you switch the site between light and dark, that choice is saved locally so the page does not load in the wrong colours next time. If your browser supports it, a service worker keeps a copy of the last few pages you opened so they still work when you lose signal. Both live on your device, both disappear when you clear site data, and neither is readable by us.
The “Today outside” box beside an article shows the UV index, the temperature and the dry hours for roughly where you are. Our own server works out an approximate location, the nearest city, from your IP address using a database it holds itself, then asks the Norwegian Meteorological Institute for the forecast at that city. Your IP address is not sent to them or to anyone else, and neither the address nor the location is stored. If the city is wrong you can type another, and that choice stays in your own browser only. Location data comes from DB-IP and the forecast from MET Norway, both credited under the box.
We do not embed third-party video players, social widgets, maps or comment platforms in our articles, so reading one does not quietly introduce you to anyone else. Fonts are served from our own server, not from a font network.
The calculators
Every one of our health calculators runs entirely in your browser. Your height, weight, age, cycle dates and every other value you enter are used by the page you are on and are never transmitted to us or to anyone else. We do not have them, so we cannot lose them, sell them, or be made to hand them over.
The one thing we do record is that a calculator was used and which one, as an analytics event. It carries no value you entered. Like all our analytics, it follows the consent choice described below.
Some tools offer to remember your last result so you see it again on your next visit. That is off unless you tick the box, it is stored in your browser only, it is never sent anywhere, and it is switched off in code for the pregnancy, due date, ovulation and period tools, which are never saved even if you ask.
The free plan quiz and our emails
If you finish the plan quiz or sign up for our emails, we store your email address, your quiz answers (goal, sex, age, activity level, diet, and the obstacle you picked), the calorie and macro targets calculated from them, the page and campaign that brought you, and your IP address with the last part removed. The shortened IP is there to stop a bot submitting the form thousands of times, not to identify you.
We use that to send the plan you asked for and, if you agreed, two follow-up emails after it. Every email carries a one-click unsubscribe link that takes effect immediately, with nothing to log into and no reason required. The legal basis is your consent, and you can withdraw it at any time.
Our emails are sent from our own mailbox through our host’s mail servers. We do not pass your address to a mailing list company, and we never sell or rent it. Records older than two years are anonymised automatically: the email address is replaced and only the answer pattern remains, which cannot be traced back to you.
If you buy the 4-week plan
Payment is handled by Paddle.com Market Ltd as merchant of record, under Paddle’s own privacy notice. Your card details go to Paddle and never reach us. Paddle passes us your email address, the transaction reference, the amount, the currency, and the country used for tax.
We store those alongside the plan generated from your quiz answers, plus the PDF of that plan on our server, so we can deliver it, send it again if the first email goes missing, and handle a refund. Your plan lives at a private link containing a random token, so anyone who has the link can open it; treat it as private. The legal basis is performing the contract you entered into. A transaction record may be kept after your email address is erased, where tax and accounting rules require it.
Comments
Comments are closed on this site, so there is no comment form to fill in and nothing about you is collected by one. No comment picture is fetched from the Gravatar service, and no comment cookie is set on your device. If you want to tell us something, the contact page has an email address that reaches a person.
Advertising
This site is funded by advertising through Google AdSense. Google and its ad partners use cookies and similar identifiers to select ads, limit how often you see the same one, and measure whether an ad worked. What Google does with that is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services, and you can turn off personalised advertising at My Ad Center.
If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, Google’s own consent tool asks you before any of that happens, and until you answer, advertising and analytics storage are set to denied. Your answer is stored so you are not asked again on every page, and you can change it from the link in our cookie policy. Advertising has no influence on what we publish, which is covered in our editorial policy.
Where an article links to a product we earn a commission on, that is disclosed on the page and in our affiliate disclosure. Following such a link takes you to the retailer, whose own privacy notice then applies.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages are read, which calculators are used, and where visitors arrive from. We look at totals, not individuals, and we have never tried to identify a visitor from it. Google acts as our processor for this and describes its handling in the Google privacy policy. Analytics follows the same consent choice as advertising: before you answer, and if you decline, no analytics cookie or identifier is set.
If you arrive from a campaign link, the campaign name is kept in your browser for that visit only, so that if you later ask for the plan we know which article or advert sent you. It is discarded when you close the tab.
Security measures that touch your data
To stop automated abuse, the site counts recent form submissions and failed logins against a one-way hash of the address they came from, kept for one hour. The address itself is not stored for this, and the counter is discarded when it expires. Public account registration is closed, so there are no visitor accounts on this site.
Who else sees your data
We do not sell your personal data and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing. The only parties involved are the ones named above, each for one job: Hostinger hosts the site, the database and the mailbox; Paddle processes payments; Google provides advertising, its consent tool and analytics. Google and Paddle operate internationally and transfer data under the safeguards set out in their own notices.

Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to stop using it, or object to how we use it. If you are in the EEA or the UK you have these rights under the GDPR; if you are in California or another US state with a privacy law, you have the equivalent rights there, including the right not to be treated differently for using them. We do not sell personal information as those laws define it.
To use any of them, write to us from the contact page using the email address the data is attached to, and say what you want. The site has built-in export and erasure tools covering the quiz, email and order records, so this is usually done within a few days and always within a month. You may also complain to your local data protection authority, though we would rather you told us first so we can fix it.
Children
This site is written for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us their details, tell us and we will delete them.
Changes to this policy
When what we do changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top is updated. If a change affects data you have already given us, we will say so by email rather than quietly editing the page. See also our cookie policy, terms of use, terms of sale and medical disclaimer.
